PS and LR not working on new 2020 hp spectre x360

I just bought a new hp spectre specifically to work in PS and LR, however whenever I'm in either program for more 5 minutes it freezes and the whole computer restarts. I've tried turning the graphics card off. I wondering if this is a common issue and if I should just return the laptop and stick with my desktop.

Only you can determine if you should return that notebook computer. There is nothing wrong with it and it should run both LrC and Ps, with or without using the GPU.

Your problem could be cause by the system overheating. Neither LrC or Ps have any code in them to make the system Restart. That is something in the system that is making that happen.
