PS keeps giving me a pop up screen stating its not working correctly

Hi, I have been having this issue with PhotoShop for some time now, I keep my laptop up today as well as the app via the creative cloud site. 

When I open photos or PNG files to work with it sometimes doesnt open them and then just freezes and I am forced to shutdown the program. Most times I get a pop up that says an error occurd with Adobe Photoshop and I need to close the program.

 

Any idea what is wrong or how I can fix this issue.

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far? 

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Thank you for the feedback, I will look into this. but I dont have any
custom brushes or presets on photoshop as I hardly use it. I prever Bridge
for editing my images.

If you don’t use custom presets then restoring the Preferences cannot destroy any so …
