Ps window will not 'become active when called

Sorry for not being clear. The behavor was intermitted under Sonoma but now constant in Sequoia.

Questions: Script? No, just trying to edit in Ps.

Behaviour: No matter how I refer to, call, bring to front, make active - Ps requires an extra mouse click in the window. Note, when I say active I mean that the Finder toolbar shows Photoshop as the active (front) window. It is 'at the front.' With any other program when the finder header shows an application, it is active and ready for use. Not with Ps. It does not matter where or how I get to/back to Ps. Simple example. I'm in Lr (current version). Ps is open. Select an image, then press cmd-e so that Ps opens the file and its window is front of all other programs in the Finder window. It is ready for input. Bukt… I cannot act on the window - anyhow, anyway, without first clicking on it to make Ps accept input. This happens when invoking filters plugins and really anything called to the current window. The only exception is that invoking Camera RAW when I'm at the edit window will come up and work without a click.

2nd example: I just clicked on the Ps icon in the Dock. It appears, is selected, and ready for work. I hit cmd-shift-a to invoke Camera RAW. Instend of starting the plugin, Ps just beeps. I have to first click on the image, then I can get Camera RAW.

I realize that this is basically trivial, but when I'm deep into development, my mind is on pattern and 'busy'. Being forced to stop, move cursor, click interupts that and is irritating as h3ll.

To clarify—did you mean Sequoia, not Sonoma? Also, are you trying to create a script or just editing in Photoshop? When you say “active,” can you"clarify what you mean by that? And what exactly are you doing in Photoshop?
