Quick Export As PNG default saving location

No matter what file I'm working on or what directory I'm mainly working out of, the "Quick Export as PNG" option always defaults to "Documents", which causes me to have to search for the correct folder to save into, which is not a problem with the normal Export->Export As dialog.

Anyone know how to get "Quick Export as PNG" to default to the same directory of my current file?

thanks!

It is INSANE that this is still a problem. "Quick Export" is completely useless now, and the notion that Adobe made things "more consistent" by making them consistently wrong is just amazing. I am really impressed that Adobe DID THIS ON PURPOSE!

Does anybody have a workaround? Since the "Export As..." dialog will default to the correct folder [assuming your preferences are for Export As Location is "Export assets to the location of the current document"], you can get the desired behavior by choosing Export As... and then hitting Export. But sadly the Export As dialog doesn't support macros so I can't automate this.

Eric – can you spell out a bit more clearly what your Export issue is (as you know, there is a keboard shortcut for Export As...)?

If you go to Edit>Preferences>Export, what is the Quick Export Location set to?

So, to be perfectly honest, when I posted the question, my preferences were set to the other option. I discovered this preference pane right after posting the question, though, with this set the behavior is now:
"do absolutely nothing to save the document"
