Photoshop's quick selection tool is a brush with variable hardness settings.  How does this tool's hardness setting relate to feathering of the selection?  I'm running CS6 v. 13.0.6 on a Mac Pro running El Capitan.

I do not think Hardness has any effect on the selection made Tip Size does and so do the tool Option Bar options sample all layers and Auto-Enhance edges. Size can also be set to use pen pressure.
