I've noticed that v27.1 update has supposedly been auto-installed on my PC 2 days ago, however the "About Photoshop" still shows v26.11.2 as the latest release.  Shouldn't the  "About Photoshop" show v27.1 as the latest release, or maybe the v27.1 update was not successful?

You can see if it's installed min the Creative Cloud  desktop app, in the Apps section. There's a list of all installed apps, and clicking on 'View Updates' will show a list of recent updates. You can launch Photoshop from either of these.

Then 26.11 is the version you're actually opening. But v27 may still have been installed. Take another look in the start menu.

It's quite common that file associations get a bit jumbled in a version update. You can set this in Windows Settings.

If v27 wasn't installed, the reason may be that your hardware doesn't satisfy the requirements.
