Reference Image

I have photoshop 2025 and I can't find the option "image reference" where can i find it?

Be aware that Reference Image is available for Edit > Generate Image, but not Edit > Generative Fill.

 

c.pfaffenbichler is showing it correctly because he is showing Generate Image.

 

I think the reason it isn’t available for Generative Fill because Generative Fill is filling a selected area, so they are probably assuming you want the fill to match the rest of that image. But Generate Image makes an independent image and is not based on a selection, so it’s free to be guided by any other style such as a reference image.

Please open an image, make a selection, and then place your insertion point in the “Generative Fill” field of the context bar. If the reference image button does not appear, please share a screenshot of your screen.
