Remove tool 26.10 not enough RAM

data from [ task manager  / processes / memory ] normally is around 17% to 25% when doing heavy load in photoshop...

most of the time 17% to 20%, so during testing:

memory was at 17%

when photohop freeze in a few second it raise to 85 up to 99% memory !!

when the popup windows appear [ could not complete because there is not enough memore RAM ].

soon as this popup windows appear, in less then a second the memory drop back to 17%...

If I'm not mistaken that's not the first time Photoshop had this kind of beavior...

did another complete preference reset.

open the same image

choose remove tool / mode: auto

check : remove after each stroke

check: create new layers.

And remove tool run prefectly with those setting...

second test:

choose remove tool

check: remove after each stroke

uncheck create new layer.

ad one new layer(manually)

And remove tool run prefectly with those setting...

third test:

choose remove tool

uncheck: remove after each stroke

uncheck create new layer.

ad one new layer(manually)

what make photoshop freeze when remove tool is selected; it's if prior to use the moove tool. I go to filter/CameraRawFilter/Distraction Removal People/clic OK.

back in photoshop, ad a new layer and few strock with the removal tool.. Photoshop frezze

i just tried Photoshop complete resert preference, and it didn't change a thing...

remove tool after a few strokes photoshop freeze, for aboout 30secs, but that freeze time varies...

This does come up from time to time. It is apparently GPU-related. The memory is used by the GPU, not Photoshop - but the complicating factor is that the GPU uses this memory performing tasks  directly called by Photoshop.

Some people have fixed it with a complete reset of preferences. The preferences contain the full application configuration, and corrupt preferences do tend to look like application bugs.
