Remove tool Crashes PS

I am running windows 10 and Photoshop CC, latest updates on both platforms

 

Remove tool generates a crash and closes PS, 

 

This is from last attempt, I looked in help for Remove tool and the crash report generated, froze system, closed PS.

 

I am attempting to remove the lower hummingbird and feeder, keeping only the flying bird.

 

I am not a strong PS user but find this most disconcerting.

Hey, @ctsnowfighter. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I've checked your account & couldn't find any crash reports.

 

Please check 'Adobe may contact me for fixes and workarounds',  add your Adobe ID & submit the crash report to us. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here. 

 

Try this in Photoshop:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Image Processing > Select "More Stable" mode for the Remove Tool

Save & relaunch Photoshop and check if that helps.

Thank you for your response - I have attached what I found for system information, hope I have done that correctly.

 

I am not well versed in PS, struggle to do what I do, working on photographs.

I have attempted to send crash reports -   PS freezes up, closes the program.

Most of the time I have Bridge open at the same time and try not to have other programs or apps running.

Windows 10 machine, guess I will have to upgrade in near future.

As an example of what I am trying to accomplish - remove the edges of the feeder when I crop to the bird in the photo.

I always crash when attempting to use Remove tool, I end up with healing brush and patch tool.

Original image and one I have cropped, "framed" and captioned.

This continues to be an un-useable "feature" of PS

System will not go beyond selecting the icon in the tool bar - once chosen, PS CLOSES!

I have sent multiple crash reports and tried to include the necessary system information here.

 

I wonder if AI is the root of this problem and taking over operations of the computer operating system.

DEFRAG - Optomize - Virus Scans (McAfee) have done nothing to help and find no issues.

Temporary files have been cleared, cache cleared to the best of my knowleldge.
