Question

Remove Tool freezes at the start and crashes with an error

Every time I use the Remove Tool, it starts processing as shown in the attached screenshot, but it always freezes at the same point in the progress bar. After waiting for a while, an error window appears and the operation is canceled.

Has anyone experienced this issue before, or is there a known fix/workaround?

Thanks in advance.

Hey, @Emin_NoExitGames. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more information to help you figure this out. Please share the system information from Photoshop Help > System Info > Copy and paste it into a text document > Upload and attach it here.

I reviewed the account you used to log in and found an active Enterprise subscription.

If an IT team manages the device, ensure all the Adobe Network endpoints are whitelisted: https://adobe.ly/3STmkgaYou can also try using Photoshop Web (https://adobe.ly/3WkhVFm) on a different/alternate device & internet network to rule out that it is a network issue.

I've seen something as basic as 'Run as Administrator' helping in a few cases.

Just head to the Photoshop installation folder (Default - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2025)

Find Photoshop.exe > right-click > use 'Run as Administrator'.

Let me know how it goes.
