Remove Tool not processing request

Hi, since updating to Photoshop 2026 the remove tool has become unstable. It works and processes the request however after running photoshop for a few hours it stops.

The remove tool either doesn't progress or progresses part way then stops.

Computer restart has fixed the issue temporarily.

Any thoughts or ideas on to fix please let me know.

Hi @jamies95773222, welcome to the community!
Just to help figure things out: does this issue happen with a specific file, or every time you try it? Also, does the layer you're working on have any transparent areas? If so, could you try the same steps on a layer that's completely solid and see if the behavior changes?

Hi @Aleke , I have the same issue and it happens to every file, also it's a solid layer with no transparent areas(it also does not matter if u use AI or not and if Device or cloud). So I need to restart the PS to fix the issue temporarily, then it will happen again after some time. And it also just happened after the update of the latest version, which is PS 2026 ver 27.0.0
