Remove Tool not working v27.6

Hi I am Running PS version 27.6 on my mac and the remove tool is not working.

My operating system is MAC O.S. 13.7.8

Initially I got the message i need to update to OS 14 but my mac is unable to update to that.

Steps I have already taken:

Uninstalling PS via creative cloud and re-installing

Changed in Preferences  > remove tool preferences to more stable

Is there any way to work around or fix this?

Thanks.

Have you tried reverting to a previous version of Photoshop? In the Creative Cloud desktop app, click the 3 dots in the lower left of the Photoshop card and select Other versions. You can go back as far as 26.0. Photoshop version 26 supports macOS 13.

The alert says “you need macOS 14 or higher to use the tool”, so 13.7.8 won’t work.

Matt K. (Matt Kloskowski) has a tutorial about why and how the Content Aware tool is often better than the Remove tool (and Gen A.I.) Watch this for tips and try the tool that you have:

Thanks for your reply. This did not really help so im guessing that I have to have mac OS14 in order to use remove tool now. Unless anyone else has ideas. Also I believe OS14 came out in 2023.
