Retaining the new document file

When I reset my PC all new document files get erased. Is there anyway to save the new document files in a external folder?

Thanks for reaching out! If I understand correctly, you performed a system reset — meaning you removed everything and reinstalled Windows and then the application. If that’s the case, it would also remove all existing folders, files, and settings. Could you please confirm how and why you did the reset?

 

Also, once the preferences and related files are deleted, unfortunately, they can’t be retrieved. For the future, before resetting your machine or any application, please make sure to back up your preferences. You can find detailed steps here: Back up Photoshop preferences

"Could you please confirm how and why you did the reset?"
