Rulers in Photoshop are nearly invisible and totally useless. How can their visibility be improved?

The rulers in Photoshop are nearly invisible. How can they be improved? If I can't see them, then I can't use them. Please help.

Darker, more contrast, different color, anything can help.

Try the shortcut Ctrl Shift F1 (make the UI darker)

and Ctrl Shift F2 (make the UI lighter)

I don't think that was the point, nor, apart from the lighest, do the different modes improve contrast much.

Which screen mode are you using? It would be helpful if you can post a screenshot showing what you see on screen. We'll surely add our voices to yours on this one, but we need a bit more detail.
