Save as dialogue box opens in top left corner

I have just built a new Windows 11 computer and installed PS 2025. Now the "save as" dialogue box keeps opening in the top left corner and no matter how many times I drag it to the centre, the next time I "Cntr/shift/s" it opens in the top left corner again.

This is extremely anoying and uncomfortable.

Anybody have a solution

Hi @thefotoman

Thank you for reaching out. Can you try resetting preferences? Before anything else, please try these steps:
Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
  • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe
  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2025 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2025. old), You can restore these preferences later if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)
  • Restart the computer.

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install. Let me know how it goes.

Reset the preference is such a LAME solution. Photoshop has been around for about four DECADES now. Certainly a manager could instruct the developers to find a better solution. Resetting preferences can destroy HOURS of work.

Do better, Adobe! Affinity looks more attractive every day you fail to fix ridiculous problems such as this.

Be sure to back up your preferences when they are working so you do not ever lose hours of work.

In addition to what this article says, use the panel menu to save action sets, swatches, custom gradients, and everything else you customize. For instance, if you create or modify an action, immediately save the set it is in or you risk losing it.

Nope..... still opens in top left corner.
Dragged it to the center and saved..... closed PS and reopened...... tried again and still opens top left

so eventually managed to sort it..... reset all the preferences and then manually had to redo all the preferences because each time I tried to restore the original preferences, the same issue returned
