Save for Web Defaults Won't Save

I use Save for Web every day, and it used to open each time with my last-used settings (jpeg).

After upgrading to Photoshop 2019, Save for Web always reverts to GIF after I quit and relaunch the application, making me redo all the jpge settings every time.

I've tried to tell Photoshop to remember my settings (hold down Option and click the Remember button), but that doesn't help.

Is this a bug? Am I missing something?

Thanks for any help.

Version 20.0.5 was released today. It seems the problem is fixed. There is no default to GIF, but only to the last format saved. If other Mojave users can confirm this, this case can be closed.

Yes seems fixed here as well with macOS 10.14.5 Mojave and photoshop 20.0.5.

Ok, unfortunately for Mojave users of CC 2018 and below, the GIF default remains.

    Still not fixed months later.

Can anybody tell me why people are still using Legacy Save for Web?  It's not that good.  Except for animated GIFs, there's no reason to use it anymore (hence the Legacy prefix?).

Try File > Export > Export As.   Use sufficient pixels and adjust Quality Slider down to reduce file size.   Export also has options for saving your copyright metadata and color space.

Just adding my voice to those already calling for this to be fixed.

It's extremely painful in my daily workflow to have to dial in the settings every time.

Can we expect a fix any time soon?

Hell, I'd settle for a workaround/hack right now.

Yes, perfect -- thanks! Glad to hear they're working on it.

I dug around but didn't find that discussion.

It would be awesome if this got fixed. Super annoying to have save for web default to gif.
