Question

Saving HUGE jpg's

I did a search and could not find anything that really answers this issue. I have metadata shut off.

I run windows 10. Just yesterday I was trying to save a 963 x 1200 px image at top quality for my website as a sample of my artwork. I do this all the time, and normally these samples are around 1.2 mb. But yesterday PS was trying to save that same size image at almost 7mb. I did have this issue several years ago, and someone mentioned how to fix it. But strangely it seemed to fix itself the next day.  Thanks SO much in advance for any help!

Probably DocumentAncestors metadata. That's a complete record of all copy/paste/places, and can grow to huge sizes in e.g. template files or files off the internet.

There are scripts to remove it, but a simple way is to Save For Web or Export. Both will strip metadata. A regular Save will retain it.
