Script: Action to switch between the document-level groups

Hello,
 
Any suggestions how I should script an action to switch between the document-level groups?

    Attached a GIF demonstrating the idea

•     User selects a document-level group
•     Run Script
•     Script: Move Forward or Backward to next group at document-level
  • If next is ‘Background’ layer, skip to the next group
