Scripts slow

Question

Why is it that scripts written by me in script events manager are fast to execute with the beta version of PS, but 2024 and 2025 are slow to do so? This is a simple action: duplicates bkgnd. layer, then creates a blank layer below that, fills it with white, then reselects the duplicate layer.

@keith_2827 The 'Beta' versions are meant to handle the intensive performance testing and optimization. Hence why it's a 'Beta' . It's likely the 2024 and now 2025, weren't fully finished and added to the main program for the regular versions. I would double check and adjust your Photoshop preferences related to Scratch Disks, Image Processing, and Performance which might significantly impact script execution speed.
