Searching for a brush by name in the search bar causes windows to float or tools to change, help

Question

Just updated to version 25.0 of photoshop and ran into a problem that slows down my workflow, that wasn't an issue before.

I often search for a brush by name in the brush search bar. I'm clicked on the search bar and the vertical line is blinking, so this isn't a matter of not having clicked on the search bar properly before typing.

Then instead of the brush name getting typed out when I type, it instead start tool switching fast and makes all sidebars and windows turn to floating windows and resize them to be really small. One the windows are floating and it's chaotic half my typing THEN goes into the search bar and finds the brush. Of course some of this is just hotkeys being triggered as I type, but I'm not able to get out of floating window format without closing the document (which is a separate bizarre problem).

I'm definitely active and clicked on the search bar and never had this issue in past version of photoshop. Anyone know what the problem could be or a fix to it?

Pierre, thanks for the update heads up. I'd missed that.

Danielle, my first thought is that you have some sort of pointer clash going on. Almost as if you put your Wacom pen down on the tablet while using the mouse and trying to type. Do you have other pointers? I have a Space Mouse, for instance, that I only use with SketchUp, but more than once some desk debris became resting on the Space Mouse leaving me wondering why my cursor has developed a mind of its own.

Failing that, I'd be thinking of a pointer driver be it mouse, tablet, keyboard trackpad. Does your system have a trackpad?

I guess if 25.1 fixes it, then whatever was causing it becomes moot, but it's an interesting one, and I'd have loved to know what was going on.
