Select and Mask does nothing no controls work. It's not frozen just no effects at all for some time now.

Windows 10

Latest Photoshop update. ( didn't work before either)

Problem resolved with -----> Edit>Preferences>General> click on the "Reset Preferences On Quit" button. This allowed Select and Mask to work but changed the way Photoshop looks. I still find doing it all manually better...I guess it will take practice.

Thanks for any and all help given.

Glad to hear that, in the future, use this method:
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually it lets you keep a copy on the desktop that you can use to revert the process.

Hi, please post the contents of Photoshop's Help>System Info... menu, so that we get to know your OS, its version, the exact version of Photoshop you are running, the date of the GPU driver, etc.

Select and Mask is heavily GPU dependent. What GPU? Is it recognized and working? (see under preferences > performance).
