Select and Mask stopped working correctly

I use S&M a lot with hue/sat. layers.  Yesterday changes stopped being saved and previous deletions return along with the marching ants for the rest of the selection.  I'm using the current CC version.  This did not seem to start immediately after the update of a few days ago.
