Select Subject and Remove Background not working despite GPU being detected

Photoshop detects my radeon rx 5500M and gpu acceleration is enabled. gpu compatibility check passes, but select subject and remove background fail, saying "Couldn't find a subject/background" gpu driver is from 2021.

    First I would install the actual device driver.

    If this doesn’t help, check if you have buildin a CPU with an integrated GPU. If yes, disable the CPU-internal GPU and check again.
