Selected area is disappearing

Question

Hi! After double click or just closing the selection while selecting with simple select tool the selection desappearies. I mean instead having dotted line around selected area I have to ctrl Z everytime to have selection. Any tips? THX

I can think of one possible reason, assuming you are using the Polygonal Lasso tool.

If you double-click away from the start, it will complete and close the selection.
If you click once on the starting point (you will see a circle to indicate closing), it will close the selection.
If you click twice on the starting point, the first click will close the selection and the second click will deselect. Undo will undo the Deselect. This is the most likely reason this is happening for you.
