Show Grid (Command + ') Keyboard Shortcut Not Working

The keyboard shortcut to show/hide the grid has stopped working. I checked in the settings and it's still set to default (Commnd + '), but when I try to use the shortcut nothing happens.

I have reset the preferences, restarted Photoshop without plugins and still not working!

The same issue exists in After Effects, which uses the same keystrokes for that shortcut.

Other Command shortcuts work fine and the ' key works.

Any suggestions?

Give it up for the problem still existing in 2025! Yipee!...
Does the issue maybe have anything to do with keyboards? I'm using a Danish QWERTY keyboard, but i have no idea if that has anything to do with it.

I assumed there was some sort of system conflict within macOS? I reassigned it to cmd + shift + ' years ago — surprised it's still a bug
