Smart Objects Within A Group--Same As Linked?

Seems like an elementary question, but I haven't found an answer.

I have 25 hand gesture images in their own groups and then all nested within a "Hands" group. If the images are smart objects, can I resize the top "Hands" group to a smaller size and all the smart objects along with it without losing resolution if I later re-enlarge them? Or is this only possible by linking all the images?

Thanks.

Correct answer Earth Oliver

yes, that's how smart objects work. You don't need to link them.

Smart Objects, no matter whether embedded or linked, maintain their data to recalculate the instances when they are transformed, filtered etc.
