Something for the Weekend - Part 232 - Through the Mill!

Hi,
We had some great entries to our last, 'Cutting Edge' challenge. Thanks to all who took the time to create those images.

This week we are off to the River Wear at Durham, where we find this old fulling mill. Fulling is a step in the process of making woollen cloth. The building dates back to the 17th century although there are records of a watermill at the location even before that. In 1833 it became a museum and part of the university of Durham. It is a timeless and tranquil scene. What can you do to liven it up?

The “rules”:

  • Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
  • The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave

Let's bring her back to business

Early in my career I had three larger jobs producing education media for museums around the subject of power production through water (water mills and turbines). Putting water wheels into places where there weren't any previously with the help of Photoshop has become part of my DNA.

@chelsea_7597  It's very simple to join in. Go to the first post in this thread and follow the instructions to download the image. Make your edits and then post it back in a reply to that first post (the online forum posting box has an image icon to attach images).

I moved the mill to the Atchafalaya Swamp in Louisiana. I thought it was a saw mill, and could be used there to mill the last few remaining ancient cypress trees....
