Something for the Weekend - Part 241 - Time and Tide....

Hi,

Thanks to all who took part in our last, 'Prickly Issue', challenge. We had a great range of entries with both still images and animations.

'Time and tide wait for no man', says the old proverb. So for this week, I bring you a picture of Staithes, a lovely village on the North Yorkshire coast of England. Can you show us what it might look like when the tide retreats?

The “rules”:

  • Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
  • The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave

Welcome to SFTW Ayesha. I like the new scene when viewed small. Zooming in though shows that the kids were born in AI land and have those unique AI limbs that AI rarely seems to get right.

The view looking up from the plug-hole, just after the water drained out! Clever.

This guy will think he is scary as feck, but he's in for a rude surprise when he meets his first Yorkshire man.  He'll be ecky thumped right back to where he came from.   Does Yorkshire have its own equivalent of the Loch Ness Monster?  No it doesn't, and that's because sea monsters know better than to mess with Yorshire folk.

There's a gallery in the street just behind those seafront buildings Dean, I'll look for your image there 🙂

Exquisite, Trevor.

It reminds me of the old Toyota Hilux commercial(s).

Thankyou Jacob and Dave.  I wish I'd used a Hilux instead of that SUV now.

Right you are again, Dave, and thank you.

The BBC News article has been further updated, with the word dark now in its right place.

Guys, if you are new here, first off welcome to our Something To The Weekend threads.  Some excellent interpretations of Dave's starter image.  So that you know, when uploading your image, use the forum image widget (red highlight below).  If you paste directly into the post, it it almost always results in an undersized thumbnail of your image.  I've fixed the fireworks, and night time lightning images.  Remember, Go Big or Go Home. 🙂

Hi and welcome to SFTW.
There are hints of the original image shapes in there, yet a lot has changed. Did you use AI?

The 3rd century Germanic beserker reenactors had arrived in Staithes by yacht,

Yes, flotilla the fun

Best regards, Euan.

Blimey that's a lot of boats Euan.    I'm thinking what a nightmare that selection would have been prior to the recent Super-Select update.   You've made a nicw job of matching the water with reflections to the shoreline.
