Something for the Weekend - Part 253 - One hundred and eighty!

Thanks to all who participated in our previous, Halloween based, challenge. There were some great ideas and images shared. This week we have something different.

'One hundred and eighty', the highest score with three darts, became famous for the way it was called out by Russ Bray, a professional referee with a unique style to his declaration of the score. So this week, I bring you three darts (actually a 3D render). What will you make with them, 180 or something else entirely?

The “rules”:

  • Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
  • The challenge is not limited to Photoshop. Any Adobe software can be used.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
  • The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). It is rendered with a transparent background so no need to create an initial mask.

When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave

Gemini is incredible, it  used the SFTW dart model for the dart already on the board.

I wouldn't like to be seated at the table under the board though 🙂

I sometimes search for memes and cartoons when looking for SFTW ideas.  No surprise that Gen Fill refused to remove the watermark.

It has been surprising me at times though.  A recent project started with a shite photo of some old work mates, and I made elliptical selection around each face in turn, and tried 'Enhance face' and it totally worked.  Sometimes (mostly) NB did the better job, but on one occasion, Flux Kontext was the winner.  It also hit me that we can now duplicate any text effect we see using Flux Context, so I started collecting good examples (I have a 30 layer psd file so far).  Even when you look and know you can duplicate it manually, it is still having as a reference for the ideas.  For the first time since this Ai malarkey started, I actually used just short of every one of the 4100 premium credits we get with a full sub. Some of that was trying examples from Jesús Rameriz Ai Mastery course, and the Dave Cross Photoshop summit, which on top of MAX online is a _heap_ of videos to work through.  This has to be as exciting time for the Adobe apps we use as any I can remember.

The brand new Pilum Point based on the ancient pilum technology has proved its ability to soften the impact and avoid bouncing out of even the most battered dartboards, such as this original Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core PDC Match Board where no part has been spared down to the chalk sticks.

However, a definite downside has been observed, so improvements of the concept are ongoing.

It looks like some-one has spun it clockwise a tad, the 20 is no longer at the top. They must have been at the DPA (other ales are available 🙂 )

I have also wondered, Dave, and I believe you are right about ales (Peak Ales?).

Dave, you may cringe some more when I say that I had to eyebull the flight path for the animation.

With four darts, he'll be looking to score 240, Trevor!

I used Frame Animation in the Timeline Window. Background was generated with Gemini from a quick sketch and prompt.

The twist of the dart tail as he bounces is a great touch. An excellent idea, very nicely put together.
