Spontaneous registration marks on image

"we find registration marks have appeared on the side of a printed photo."

First question: "on the side"? Which side? All sides?
"The original photo does NOT have them but by the time I cut and paste onto my canvas they appear."

"Canvas"? you mean, in your photo editor?

Two additional things come to mind, Kevin.

The marks are on the image but the lines are so thin that you don't see them on your screen.

And from which app are you printing?
