Spot Color Type layers and Placed Linked Spot Color Illustrator files not showing up as spot colors.

I have a CMYK plus spot color PSD image that includes a PMS Green Type layer and PMS Green Illustrator Image but both get converted to CMYK and are not printing as Spot colors. 

How can this be changed?
