how much do I need to allocate to Photoshop and why wasnt this pointed out in first place.

I don't know what 800 number you called, or what country you are located in. Support varies by country, so I can't address this question without additional information.

1. How much RAM is installed on your computer?
2. How much is allocated to Photoshop (Preferences > Performance > Memory Usage)?
3. And perhaps most importantly, if the healing brush has worked previously on this system, what size is your. brush? Try reducing the Healing Brush size.
