I am an artist and need to stitch together scans in photoshop and I would love to do this on my new ipad as my mac is going on 8 years and photoshop is crashing.

Does the app allow you to do the same automate browse and stitch as it does for photoshop on the desktop?

No. Or at least, not yet probably.

Adobe keeps adding features to the iPad version, but panorama stitching is not there yet, and it is not yet on their public list of features coming up. (Adobe recently featured the addition of the Magic Wand tool to the iPad version, so they’re still adding basic stuff.) Adobe didn’t wait until every last feature of the desktop could be redesigned for the touch interface of the iPad, or we probably wouldn’t have the iPad version to use right now, as basic as it is.

However, for aligning scans, the iPad version does have enough features to do this manually, using an old Photoshop technique: Set an upper scan layer to Difference blending mode, and that will help you align the edges of the two scans because when the two layers are perfectly aligned, areas that are identical on both layers will be black. After perfectly aligning two scans, set the upper layer back to Normal and move on to the next scan.
