In Text mode, there are two types of text container, each with its own icon. What is the difference between them?

Hi @poetHoward,

Great question! In Photoshop on iPad, the two types of text containers are Point Text and Area Text, and they serve different purposes:

1. Point Text

Icon: A cursor with a single line.

Purpose: Best for short lines of text, like titles or labels.

How it works: You simply tap and start typing. The text will expand horizontally as you type and won’t automatically wrap to the next line.

2. Area Text

Icon: A cursor with a rectangle.

Purpose: Designed for paragraphs or blocks of text that need to fit within a specific area.

How it works: You tap and drag to create a text box. The text wraps within the defined area, and you can adjust the dimensions of the box to control text flow.

Feel free to experiment with both to see which works best for your project! Let me know if you have more questions.

Best,
