Question

The color picker for text is no longer available

When adding text to an image, the color picker to match the text with colors within the image has been missing (I’m using the lastest release).

Painful Workaround -

close the color picker, go back to the image, select the color dropper, pick the color, copy the color code….THEN go back to the text, highlight, select color, go to color code box, paste the color code.

UGGGGHHHH…..

Your issue is actually not the same as the OP’s and is best off in a separate thread.

@richardc10145512’s color picker has been missing and we are waiting to see a screenshot.

I also discovered, that it only works after you pick a random color in the color selector box. You can then go outside the box and hold down the cursor to get the dropper tool. Sounds like a glitch Photoshop needs to fix.

I was having the same issue HOWEVER I just discovered that when I take my cursor out of the Color Picker window and hold it down over the color I want, it turns into the picker tool and gives me the color I select.

Present, correct and working here in v27.11.0 on Windows 11. The eyedropper appears as soon as the cursor moves outside the colour dialogue box.

Can you show a screenshot of your options bar for the Type tool so we can see why it’s missing?

Also, instead of “latest”, can you give us the exact version?
