Unable to export due to "error"

I have a photoshop document open. When I try to export it — whether that’s “Quick Export as PNG,” or “Export As,” I am met with an error. The text of the error is “Could not complete the Quick Export as PNG command because of a program error (854aee.3153)” and “Could not complete the Export As command because of a program error (854aee.3153)” respectively. This is a very new install.

I looked for this issue and found others had it through the years. I have ensured that Photoshop has full disk access. I’ve also tried with and without the graphics processor. It’s pretty crippling to be completely unable to export my work in any usable format. Renders the program completely useless, effectively.

System info:

Apple M1

16GB memory

macOS version 26.5.2 (25F84)

Photoshop version 27.9.1

@Sameer K and @caring_Flutterb421 , here’s a screen recording demonstrating the error is irrespective of specific files or locations. I created a brand new, empty document and encounter the error on export attempt.

Sorry for the delayed follow-up, and thank you for your patience and for providing the recording and System Info.

Since you’ve confirmed that the same 854aee.3153 error occurs even with a brand-new document, I’d like to make a couple of final comparisons and collect one additional diagnostic file.

Please:

Update macOS to the latest available version, currently 26.7.1, restart the Mac, and test again.
Update Photoshop to 27.11 and test both Quick Export as PNG and Export As.
If it persists, please test the same workflow in Photoshop Beta 27.12, available under Creative Cloud > Apps > Beta.

If you still receive 854aee.3153, please also share your PSErrorLog.txt from the affected session. That log may contain additional information about what is failing when Photoshop attempts the export.

If the issue persists after these tests, we’ll forward the reproducible case and diagnostics for further investigation.

I updated my Mac (the most recent version is 27.0.1), and updated Photoshop, then restarted my computer. The error persisted in Photoshop. I downloaded Beta, and the error persisted there as well. I have attached screen recordings of both. I don’t see a file called `PSErrorLog.txt` at the location you indicated in Finder, nor anywhere on my computer. In the directory you referenced there is a file called `UXPLogs_2026-10-08_00-41-39_521288.log`, which for some reason I’m unable to attach to this message. I get the error `UXPLogs_2026-10-08_00-41-39_521288.log: Something went wrong, please check your link and try again.` The contents of the file are pretty minimal, so I’ll just paste them here:

Since both Quick Export and Export As are failing with the same error, I’d first test with a brand-new blank RGB document. If that also fails, the issue is likely with Photoshop rather than the PSD.

I’d also update Photoshop to the latest available version and, if the problem persists, try Reset Preferences. If you still get 854aee.3153, posting the Help > System Info output would be useful for troubleshooting.

Please update Photoshop to v27.10 via the Creative Cloud desktop app, and check if that helps.

If the issue still exists, please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Does this happen with any image stored in a specific location?
