Unable to Save Image at 1200 PPI – Resolution Reverts to 72 PPI After Saving

Not all file formats hold resolution metadata. Either size the image for print output outside of Photoshop so that the effective resolution is 1200ppi - or save into a format which does include resolution metadata.

Sorry to hear you’re running into this. To help narrow this down, could you share a few details? 

• What file type are you starting with and saving as, such as JPG, PNG, TIFF, or PSD?

• Are you checking the resolution in Photoshop itself, or in Preview/Finder on the Mac? Share some screenshots of both.

• In Image > Image Size, is Resample turned on or off when you change the resolution?

• What are the pixel dimensions before and after the change?

• Are you using Save As, Save a Copy, or Export?

• Share a few screenshots or a small video showing the issue and your workflow.

im trying to change the ppi of an image that is suppose to be at 1200 but reads as 72.  I open the image in Mac and resolutions reads 72 even thought the originator said its suppose to be 1200. I then open it in PS, go to image, size and change to 1200ppi & resample then save as.  Yet image is still at 72. How do I get art to stay & save at 1200?3grdhkkjkkkkk
