Question

Uninstalling Bonjour service from Photoshop CS3?

Is there no proper way to uninstall the Bonjour service that is automatically installed with PS CS3? It is of little use to the average Windows user and the service is also messed up by being named "##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##" rather than "Bonjour Service".

It's certainly possible to manually remove the references to the service in the registry and hope for the best, but that's not good enough for a top dollar application.

    Just to clarify, it's:

    Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services

The Bonjour Service is not listed as "Bonjour Service". It will probably be at the top of the list of services, and will begin with:

    ##Id_String1.6 ...

Just disable it there and it won't bother you again.

"not when it's disabled in the services applet. then it never starts."

Where do I find the 'services applet'? In CS3 or in Windows? Thanks.

I don't think JJ works for adobe...

and JJ actually IS Yoko, when he's in drag.

just thought i'd clear that up.

    you're welcome.

Read this thread, first post, where I indicate how it is done. It works perfectly--never had a hiccup since doing it. Got exactly what I wanted on and nothing else.
