Question

Unrecoverable Error and Not Enough Ram

Lr was not opening the correct version of Ps, so I was told to uninstall all of the versions (I preferred to use 2023, no bugs, but Lr would not recognize it).  So now I have the latest Lr and Ps.

I just tried using Ps and am getting the same bug errors I got in previous versions - 'not enough ram' and 'unrecoverable error'.  Now it won't even open.

I have 64gb ram, 8gb card, 15tb scratch disk...so that's definitely not the issue.

How do I fix this?  As a photographer, I can't be without Ps for a day and now it won't even open (I stay away from new releases because there are always so many bugs, but with Lr not working correctly I had no choice).

Hi @displaced7 this definitely sounds like a lack of resources. Try resetting your PS preferences manually.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

If you manage to get PS open - go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.

If you still cant after the reset - please confirm your GPU card model, your C: drive available space and if your 15 TB HD is internal or extnerally connected.

That actually made it worse.  Now I can't start Ps at all.  I recall this being a bug a few versions ago, too.  I really wish Adobe would fix things before launching, so much wasted time!

i9-9900 CPU
C:  1.03 TB free
Nvidia GTX 1080

All drives are internal (I have 3 internal drives for added scratch disks, which, presumably, got erased when I reset the preferences)

@displaced7 to be clear this is an issue with your specific setup or else everyone would have this issue. I would uninstall your apps using the Creative Cloud desktop tool and remove preferences, then reinstall Photoshop.
