Update September 2026 has my computer freezing up

Thanks for reporting this. The message you’re seeing about something still downloading, followed by “Download complete,” and then Photoshop becoming unresponsive, isn’t expected.
 

Since restarting Photoshop hasn’t changed the behavior, could you please share a couple of details so we can narrow this down?

• Go to Help > System Info > Copy and paste the information into your reply.
• Please share a short screen recording showing the message and the freeze, starting just before you select one of the affected tools.
• Does the same behavior occur with each of the Healing, Wet Brush, and Remove tools, or does one of them consistently trigger it first?
• If you leave Photoshop open for a few minutes after the “Download complete” message appears, does it eventually recover, or does it remain unresponsive until you force-quit it?
 

There’s no need to reinstall Photoshop or repeatedly restart it at this point. The System Info and recording should give us a much better indication of what’s happening.
