Hi,

My PS updates report that v26.0 and 26.2 are 'Not compatible'  the report is that my processor needs 'Advanced Vector Extensions 2' (AVE2)

My machine is quite old by well specifed

Dell Precision workstation T5500

Two Xeon(R) CPUs E5507 @ 2.27 GHz 4 cores each

32Gb RAM

Win10 Pro  64 bit

GPU AMD FirePro W8100

16Tbb total storage

Is there anything I can do to be able to run PS v26 and above?

Thanks,

Ian

It is a hardware limitation. Photoshop now needs a CPU that supports AVX2. Your CPUs launched in 2010 and now classed as 'End of Life' do not support those instructions. There is no setting to get around that hardware limitation.

Thanks, I thought as much.

It's very annoying. I doubt I could swap the CPUs on the motherboard and a
new High Spec machine would be expensive 😞

Yes it is an unfortunate consequence of rapidly advancing technology that we end up on a merry go round of upgrading hardware, software, cameras etc just to keep up 😞
