I've used this features 3 times a year for a decade.
EVERY TIME it baffles me.
I did coding at college and have worked in/around tech all my life, but the ability to map simple data sets to a file an output it reminds me of text driven computer games.
HOW is Adobe running around, lauding its Ai - while processes like this still need 'salt thrown over the left shoulder' and the 'Wind to be blowing from the East'.

I won't get into the 'output naming' limitations.

Rant over...

Does anyone from Adobe ever read these posts?

I really think they should work on this are a- it can be a useful time-saving tool - when it decides to 'play ball'.

@przone – Adobe staff may sometimes read a general user-to-user discussion; however, labelling a post as an "idea" or "bug" will increase the chance of them seeing it.

Thanks Stephen.
Went ROUND and AROUND and AROUND.
Finlly made it work - by using the default field name TextVariable1 and renaming the column in my .txt file
Hilarious 🙂

I can feel your pain; a simple thing like a space at the end of a row can cause an error. Exporting from Excel, for example, does not guarantee anything, rework may be needed, along with many, many other problems one can encounter. It is a picky tool, but I do not believe they ever worked to improve it after the initial implementation, nor do I think they will ever do so.
