version 23.3 Breaks Numerous Features

* Fit to screen no longer properly scales window to screen

* Typing numbers on a layer no longer changes opacity of number (must click on opacity field each time)

* Split channels during save causes file to close and does not split channels

 

I'm sure there are more; these are the bugs I have found in the first 20 minutes of use. Truly shameful.

 

Why does Adobe think it is appropriate to use paying customers as beta testers?

    Its glitched at [removed by moderator]. My ps just crash on start time by time. They are a monopoly in the market and they sell the program only by subscription - i.e. people will pay regardless of whether something will improve or not. So you should not expect any improvement in this situation. You can expect the quality of the code to keep going down.

      Another update and no attention paid to bugs. 

       

      Why is Adobe allowed to pretend that this is a place to report bugs?

      This also broke zooming out when in a screen sized window— now the window shrinks with the zoom instead of showing the art board (this should never happen). Window resizing should happen from mouse activity or from window menu activity (ie Fit to Screen).

      Hi, on this machine that I do not administer, I cannot update to 23.3.x yet.

      Can you try the following, especially for the first issue?

      Try disabling the following:
      Preferences -> Performance -> (GPU) Advanced Settings ... -> GPU Compositing
      Preferences -> Performance -> Multithreaded Compositing

       

      Also, you can label your thread as a bug report when you create it, but please split each issue in its own thread, as they are maybe not related.

        No change in bugs from disabling GPU/Multithreaded compositing.

          Time to respond with a fix!

           

          This lack of response to real bugs (and the laziness of the non-response that has not followed up) are absolutely inexcusable.

          Please confirm if you have updated Photoshop to v23.3.1 via the Creative Cloud desktop app? Please share the system info of Photoshop from Help > System info > Share with us here.
          Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

           

          Before we conclude by calling these behavior bugs, let us first try basic troubleshooting steps.

          • First, try to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

           

          Go to the location of the preference folder mentioned below and rename it to backup it. 

          https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

          • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
          • macOS: Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
          • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2022 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2022. old)

          Did you bother to test any of the bugs as to whether they had been fixed by 23.3.1?

           

          They were not. This indicates you did not even bother to test them.

            Reintsalling is not a solution. The bug occurred from an update. The bug will be fixed by an update.

             

            Reinstalling is NEVER an appropriate course of action on Mac OS. 

             

            If there is a bug, it's a bug in the app. If you can prove otherwise, then we can talk about reinstalling. Until then, burden is on you.
