Very high RAM & Kernel Task usage

Recently the last few times I've tried to us PS the RAM from PS & Kernel Task just runs away.  Tried restarting the computer but happens immediately right again.  Curious if anyone has had similar issues. Screen shots taken about 1 min apart.
