Wacom Intuos pro medium PTH-660 and photoshop bugs on pro pen 2 sidebuttons

So, i have this problem and i dont know anymore where to post this. wacom doesnt really have a forum, so this is the best place for me to reach wacom and PS users.

So the issue: When i press the sidebuttons on the pro pen 2, wich i assigned both to be registered as "rightclick", it only clicks but cannot hold it. This is especially anoying, cause i regulary change my brush size using the alt + rightclick hold method. It worked before all this windows 10 1709 update, and the photoshop CC 2018 update?

I dont know if this is an wacom issue, propably yes, but i still tought someone in this forum could be able to help me out? This bug doesnt occur, if i go to my wacom settings, and set my pen in "mouse mode" wich has the tablet working in a trackpad form, instead of the normal setting "pen mode".

maybe you can try another brand XP-PEN Artist15.6 , it adopted the newest F900 High Tech IC, to make lines flow smoother and perform better. Compatible with Windows 10/8/7, Mac OS version 10.8 or later, and major graphics software such as Photoshop, Painter, Illustrator, Clip Studio, and more . https://www.amazon.com/Artist15-6-Drawing-Graphics-Battery-free-pressure/dp/B077PCCC7R

EDIT: OMG, someone linked the exact same fix via youtube video, just above XD i credit you. and deleted the right answer from my post. Im sorry man

So, i figured out a fix, that has some of the issues covered, like the not being able to hold rightclick and a few other pen bugs that happened. I dont know why my touchring is still not functioning the way it should, but atleast half of the issues are fixed

So, here we go:

1. Create a text file on the desktop, no need to name it or anything, just open it.

2. Write in the text file:

# Use WinTab

UseSystemStylus 0

(you can copy paste this)

3. Click save as, and navigate to: C/:users/your user name/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC 2018/Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 settings/ and save the file here. The appdata folder could be hidden, so enable hidden folders, from windows "folder settings"

4. Name the file "PSUserConfig.txt" (you can copypaste this, but leave out the .txt and just select the "save as type" when saving to use *.txt.

This has fixed all the pen related issues for me, when using the latest wacom drivers. Hope it helps you also

Im gonna mark this as the right answer, cause it does fix the original problem. The touch ring issue can be put to a new thread, to simplify when searching for the right answer to a specific problem?

Thanks, Did you also submit a thread in the Wacom forums? If so, please link it here.

Even if the bug is only in Ps does not mean that it originates from the new version, there is maybe the need for a new driver from their part...

I did some more testing, reinstalled CC 2017 to see if it was an issue with CC 2018 (which I'd rather not skip, there's finally a brush stabilizer, hurray !), and...same problem. So CC 2018 doesn't seem to be at fault here. I also tried the latest Wacom driver, 6.3.25-3, but it didn't make a difference, the problem persists and I'm starting to believe the latest windows update might be at fault (wouldn't be the first time, heh).

I created an account on Wacom's European forums and submitted a thread, but it'll have to be approved by one of their moderators, I'll update this post or make a new one when it becomes available in order to link the thread.

i think you are right I am also on the latest wacom drivers 6.3.25-3, photoshop CC 2018 update 19.0 20170929.r.165 and i installed the latest windows 10 updates (the 1709 fall creators update).

I also noticed, that when for example the press and hold to right click (pentip) is disabled from controlpanels pen and touch settings, it only aplies to applications, not desktop where the anoying "ring effects" and "press and hold to right click" still are in use. This and your post made me think it has something to do with wacom software issue and windows itself.

Hello,

Please each affected user state your OS version, the version of the Wacom drivers that you use, if an older one works, and any pertinent information...

I'm using the wheel on the Intuos tablet to increase/decrease brushsize in PS, and with this and other settings for the pen, I'm experiencing troubles. Also a lot of my old keyboard shortcuts are changed. So i fear I have to start over configuring both shortcuts and my Wacom.

the wheel function is not working for me? I have no idea why, cause it is setup correctly, but it just cycles the selection for a brush and colourpick tool?

No, mine is also acting confused, but it used to work in PS2017. Maybe someone has an answer to this. In the in the meantime I will go through my keyboard shortcuts in PS and after this try to reconfigure the tablet settings.
