What happened to my HUD color picker after the latest upgrade?

I just upgraded to Photoshop 27.9.1 and the HUD color picker center square is mostly white, with color fading in on the right and bottom of the square. The regular color picker on the tool menu still works fine, but the HUD picker is MESSED UP! Any idea what happened?

Sounds like a bug introduced in 27.8. If the HUD worked fine in 27.7, rolling back might be the best workaround for now. Hopefully Adobe fixes this in a future update!

This sounds like a possible HUD color picker rendering issue in Photoshop 27.9.1. Since the regular color picker works fine, try updating your GPU drivers or toggling Graphics Processor in Preferences > Performance to see if it fixes the display issue.

Thanks (from another sufferer) for the suggestion. It’s certainly a good guess, because if I toggle “Use Graphics Processor” off, the HUD won’t come up at all.

But I don’t think I have outdated GPU drivers, because I’m running MacOS 27.0.1, the most recent, and I understand that GPU drivers are wrapped into the system updates.

Also, I don’t think 27.9.1 is the culprit. I think the problem actually started with 27.8, which I did test, and its HUD was bad. The most recent version with a good HUD is 27.7.

I have not seen any change. I’m sure pushing AI is taking all of Adobe’s time these days and they don’t have time for real-world problems. Very frustrating.

I just tried updating to 27.11, and it’s still the same.

But it was already bad in 27.8. You must roll back to 27.7 for the last good HUD.
