What’s going on with the text transformation tool in Photoshop 26.3.0?

As you can see in the attached video, the text transformation tool seems to be bugged and doesn’t allow me to resize the text box once it’s created. This only happens when I create text with a single click. However, if I click and drag to define a text area, I can resize it afterward without issues.

My laptop has an Nvidia 3050 Ti and an i5-11400H. Does anyone know what might be happening?

Lastly, I’ve made sure that "Show Transform Controls" is checked and also tried enabling View > Show > Layer Edges, but none of this seems to work.

I hope someone can help me. Thanks a lot!

There is no text transformation tool. And the behavior you describe is expected, its the difference between point text and paragraph text.
