Also why is "workspace" greyed out?

Hi @Steve Zeeeee,

Thanks for sticking with this and for the extra screenshots. Let’s take this step by step and verify a couple of things together.

Based on what you shared, Photoshop is behaving consistently with its internal rules, but one setting is likely making it look wrong.

Here’s what I’d like you to check next:

• Confirm the document resolution (this is key)
Go to Image > Image Size and tell me what the Resolution (PPI) value is.
Point sizes in Photoshop are calculated from resolution, not from pixel dimensions, so a low PPI will make even large point sizes look unexpectedly small.

• Quick test to validate
Without changing anything else:
– Create a brand-new document using the Print preset
– Use the default resolution (usually 300 PPI)
– Type 72 pt text
If that text looks normal there, we’ve confirmed this is resolution-related rather than a Type tool failure.

• About Workspace being greyed out
This usually points to a workspace or preferences state issue, not user error.

Once we confirm the resolution behavior, the next clean step would be:
Reset preferences on quit
– Relaunch Photoshop
– Re-select Essentials (Default) from Window > Workspace

Let’s first confirm the resolution value and the Print-preset test result, then we’ll decide the next move.

Best regards,
Anshul Saini

Hi, thanks for reaching out!

Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you're using along with your computer's macOS version? What's the size of the document that you're creating?

It would be helpful if you could share a screenshot of the entire Photoshop interface.

Thanks,
Nikunj
