Hi everyone

I want a version that runs smoothly on my laptop hp g7 255 notebook pc, without lag, freezing, errors, or crashes.

My laptop specifications:
- OS: Windows 10 22H2
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3500u
- RAM: 12gb
- GPU: Vega 8
- Storage: SSD m.2

I’m not necessarily looking for the latest version — stability and smooth performance are more important to me.

Based on my system, which Photoshop version do you recommend?

My system is not very powerful, so I’m open to using an older stable version if that works better.
I plan to use Photoshop for creating thumbnails, text overlays, and graphic elements for YouTube Shorts.

In addition to the link that Chris posted, this one is the system specs for previous releases.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements/earlier-versions.html

Again, your only options are the current version, the one previous version, and 22.2 (available for a limited time).

The trial is for 7 days. Be sure to cancel within that time frame if none of these work for you, as it rolls into an annual contract if you fail to cancel.

This isn’t the answer you asked for, but those tasks are so simple that you probably don’t really need the full desktop version of Photoshop with all of its requirements and its price. It’s possible that you could get those things done using Adobe Express, which has tools optimized for social media video and runs in a web browser or phone/tablet, or an older version of Adobe Photoshop Elements with lower system requirements. A very wide range of other image/video editors, at all price points, could also get that done.

HI @arash_4570 ,

@ExUSA is correct in their statement for adobe versions and supporting windows 10. The reason at large is that Microsoft has already ended support for windows 10 last October. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/end-of-support

It would be recommened to purchase a modern machine to keep up with new OS support and product support for photoshop going forward.

You can check what Adobe recommends for computer specs here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements/2024.html

Adobe only allows installations of the current and one previous Photoshop version, although there is an exception where v22.2 is available because it has 3D features which have since been removed.

You can try 22.2 or go for something like an older version of Photoshop Elements. Adobe is already ending Windows 10 support (Elements 26 requires Windows 11) so your best bet is to start budgeting for a more current computer.
