Hi all,

I have been using photoshop CS5 for last 10 yrs. I think its really time to change and subscribe to the cloud.

I used mainly photoshop, ACR and Bridge. Very little on Light Room. Thats all I need. There are 4 plans. Which one should I subscribed?

@novetan5 Ok...I know I am going to get into 'crap' for this.... go take a course at a local community college or school; make sure they give you a school ID and email, and then get a student discount... you get Photoshop, Acrobat, Bridge, and even Lightroom. It will be a yearly subscription, and then th following year, do it again....

If you are just needing Acrobat (there is the Free Reader);
With Photoshop and Lightroom, I don't know why Best Buy has different prices, but this digital download is the cheapest because a couple cards later, it's 3x the cost?

Personally, I don't like going to third-party sites for Adobe stuff. In the past, the only way I buy Adobe is through their website. Check out their latest promotions: https://www.adobe.com/ca/products/special-offers.html

You can also consider Photoshop Elements if you don't need Lightroom

Bridge is free:

@novetan5  On a side note --seeing the economic climate-- consider doing a bit of research online for free alternatives as well. There is free software out there that easily replaces the older Photoshop CS5.

It sounds as if your photo editing needs might be of a light to moderate level, so that could save you $300 on a yearly basis. Of course, you would have to learn new software and spend a little time on getting familiar with it.

@novetan5

I'm not sure which URL you used, but this — https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html > Individuals tab — has a link for seeing details for each plan.

Two other things to know:

  • The annual plans are discounted, so there is a fee for early cancellation
  • You can get a free 7-day trial to confirm Photoshop works on your system. Be sure to cancel within the seven days.
  • If you choose the Adobe Stock trial, it is a separate subscription, so cancel it within the month. You can also leave it unchecked.

@novetan5 You can also get a trial for Photoshop Elements to see if it does what you need. It has a three-year subscription.
